Can you believe it has been exactly one year since the first episode of Women Disrupting Tech aired? Neither can I. Yet, one year later, we’ve arrived at episode 25.
And I think that calls for a celebration.
So when The Hague Tech’s events team approached me to ask if I wanted to moderate their Panel 35 events on Career Advancement of Women in Tech, I asked if the discussion could be recorded for the podcast.
The result is a great podcast episode featuring Hendrika Willemse, Wafa M’ribah, and Jennifer Delano that is absolutely loaded with anecdotes, tips, and advice on how to advance your career in tech as a woman.
Career Advancement for Women in Tech: "If you want a lot, you should not ask for a little" | Panel 35 on Women Disrupting Tech – Women Disrupting Tech
What you’ll hear in this episode of Women Disrupting Tech
This episode was recorded at The Hague Tech on 25 May 2023. In this episode, we discuss a broad range of career advancement topics, including:
- What women can do to boost their own careers in tech 💪🚀
- Why it is important that companies show that they value the women on their teams. 👩💼💼💎
- How young women can break into the world of Artificial Intelligence. 🧠🤖👩💻
- What men can contribute to the career advancement of women in tech 👨💼🌟🤝
One important lesson is that you get what you ask for. So, the advice to women in tech is to ask for the right things. Or, as Hendrika put it: “If you want a lot, you shouldn’t ask for a little”.
Towards the end, we had some questions from the crowd as well, which contributed to even more wisdom being shared.
Special thanks
I want to give a big shout-out to my guests for being a great guide to the people in the room and on the live stream. And a special thank you to the team of The Hague Tech for organizing the Panel 35 Event and to Holland Park Media for recording this podcast and the live stream.
Dutch Tech on Heels
And after the event, Jennifer Delano launched her Dutch Tech on Heels platform. This platform aims to promote the positive visibility of women in tech in the Dutch market, a mission that I wholeheartedly support.
