Join me on the third episode of Women Disrupting Tech, where I interview Arosha Brouwer, the CEO and co-founder of employee well-being startup Quan.
Psychological safety and employee well-being are at the core of our chat, in which Arosha highlights why employee well-being should be a strategic priority for every company, what it was like to launch the first version of their software, and how she secured multiple rounds of capital and what that taught her about the importance of data and traction.
Episode 3: Traction throws bias out of the window | Arosha Brouwer – Women Disrupting Tech
What you’ll learn in this episode 🔮
In this episode, Arosha is our guide as we travel the world of employee well-being. We discover why employee well-being needs to be at the core of every company’s strategy. And we learn a not-so-surprising truth about employee well-being.
“Well-being at work goes hand in hand with well-being at home”
Arosha Brouwer
One of the adages in the startup world is about ‘eating your own dogfood.’ And, when I ask Arosha how the Quan team managed the stress of their product launch, she reveals that they used their own software to track if stressful situations remained the exception.
Now, Arosha is not a deeply technical person, yet she is the CEO of a tech startup. So, in this episode of Women Disrupting Tech, we also learn how she manages her startup without a technological background. Plus, she explains that more funding for female-led startups starts with more women simply trying.
What makes this episode genuinely magical🧙🏼♀️?
What I found fascinating was Arosha’s humility to see that going to the scale-up phase may require different capabilities than those needed in the startup phase. It’s certainly not a given that the CEO who guided a startup to product-market fit is also the right person to scale the venture.
Particularly inspiring is that she also tried to be a role model for her team during that time, explaining how she dealt with stressful situations.
